The neighbourhood brocante giving forgotten objects a second life
La Régie de Quartiers La Galathée is a neighbourhood employment association that has been active in the social fabric of Deuil-la-Barre for many years. Each year it organises a large brocante in the town centre, giving objects a second life and funding its employment support and social cohesion programmes in the community.
Private sellers and professional dealers can exhibit their items in the streets of Deuil-la-Barre town centre (95170), a lively 22,000-inhabitant commune north of Paris, between the Montmorency forest and the Enghien racecourse. The brocante welcomes bric-à-brac, clothing, crockery, books, toys, records, furniture and collectibles.
The event takes place outdoors in the town centre, easily accessible by public transport from Paris (RER D, Deuil-Montmagny station). The day unfolds in a festive, relaxed atmosphere, with catering provided by association volunteers. Free entry for all visitors.
