69th Puces Islaises

69 editions and still going strong

L'Île-d'Olonne's Puces Islaises celebrates its 69th edition in 2026, making it one of Vendée's oldest flea markets. Organised by Fanfare Musique et Spectacle NDP (Notre-Dame-des-Poulins), held on Sunday 26 April 2026. On the town-hall and church square, stands spread across the village centre, turning the small town into a vast open-air market.

Nearly 70 years testify to deep local roots. Thousands of visitors come from across the Côte de Lumière. A 70th edition is already announced for 28 June 2026 - two events this year.

L'Île-d'Olonne, marsh commune

About 3,200 inhabitants in the Olonnes area, just NE of Les Sables-d'Olonne. The commune lies in the exceptional Sables salt marshes producing fine salt, plus the huge Marais d'Olonne regional nature reserve - bird migration paradise.

Heritage: 11th-12th c. Saint-Pierre church, traditional salt pans, renowned bird observatory. Sables-d'Olonne beaches 8 km, Brétignolles-sur-Mer 6 km.
