16th Car Boot Sale APE RPI — Le Buret (53170), May
In Le Buret (53170), a village in the Meslay-Grez region in southern Mayenne, the APE of the RPI (Intercommunal Pedagogical Grouping) organizes its annual car boot sale, its 16th edition. This longevity is a sign of an event well integrated into local life, awaited each spring by the inhabitants of the village and the communes of the school group.
Le Buret is a small commune in the southern Mayenne bocage, which shares its school with other villages as part of an RPI — a typically rural system that allows several communes to pool their school resources when they do not have enough students to function alone. This grouping naturally creates links between families from several villages, broadening the base of participants and volunteers for the car boot sale.
The APE of the RPI thus benefits from a network of active volunteers from several communes, which partly explains the success and sustainability of the event. In 16 years, the organization has been perfected, the volunteers have become seasoned, and the reputation of the event has been well established in the Meslay-du-Maine area.
During this car boot sale, exhibitors offer the usual second-hand items: crockery and kitchenware, adult and children's clothing, toys, books, tools, and trinkets. The quality and diversity of the stalls are guaranteed by the careful selection of pitches and the experience gained over sixteen years of organization.
Entry is free for visitors. Catering on site is provided by volunteer parents from the different communes of the RPI. The profits are shared between the schools in the grouping to finance their joint educational projects.
